Pactiv Evergreen has announced a $110 million deal to sell its facility in Waynesville, Haywood County, along with a paper plant in Arkansas, according to the company’s website.Global paper and pulp manufacturer Suzano S.A. has agreed to buy the facilities.The plant in Arkansas makes liquid packaging board and cupstock used to make fresh beverage cartons, paper cups and other fiber-based food and beverage containers, according to Pactiv Evergreen.The facility in Waynesville provides “incremental extrusion capacity” for the items produced in the Arkansas paper plant, the company said.”Suzano would use Pine Bluff and Waynesville to supply liquid packaging board to Pactiv Evergreen’s converting business,” according to a news release from Pactiv Evergreen.Suzano has agreed to offer employment to current employees at both facilities.
